Fraud recovery pace likely to slow

The Missouri Attorney General's Office has collected a recording-setting $77 million this year for Medicaid fraud. But Attorney General Chris Koster said he isn't so sure his office would be able to maintain those high amounts of recovery.

"If the pharmaceutical companies change their practices, then we'll have to go back to finding fraud the hard way," he said. "I love seeing the big collection numbers, but I'm not so sure that it will always be this way."

Missouri gets $22M, breaking fraud recovery record

The state of Missouri will receive $22 million from Pfizer Inc. as part of a $2.3 billion nationwide Medicaid fraud settlement. The $22 million award marks a record-breaking year for the state in Medicaid fraud recovery. The Attorney General's Office said so far in 2009 it has collected more than $75 million in Medicaid fraud recovery.

Dameron named as AG’s chief of staff

Stueve Siegel Hanson attorney Matthew Dameron is the new chief of staff to Attorney General Chris Koster. Koster made the announcement today that Dameron will replace Robert Kenney, who was recently appointed by Gov. Jay Nixon to the Public Service Commission. As chief of staff, Dameron will oversee the daily operations of the AG office.

Koster’s chief of staff leaves for PSC job

Gov. Jay Nixon appointed Attorney General Chris Koster's chief of staff to be a commissioner for the Public Service Commission. Robert Kenney (pictured), who joined the attorney general's office late last year when Koster was transitioning into statewide office, was tapped to join the commission that regulates Missouri utilities. He will replace Commissioner Connie Murray, whose term expired. The appointment of Kenney provides a jolt of sorts to Koster's administration. Previously a partner at Polsinelli Shalton Flanigan Suelthaus, Kenney was one of the first people Koster hired onto his staff.
