Couple sues developer for fraud

A St. Louis woman says her home is making her and her dogs sick. About five years ago, Richard and Shirley Sanders paid $204,000 for a new home built on 17th Street without knowing that the land used to be an auto wrecking yard in the 1970s, they say in a lawsuit against the developer, Choate Construction & Development Inc. of Maryland Heights. Within a year of buying the property, the couple began to find auto parts in the soil. Within three years, Shirley Sanders, who landscaped the yard, developed tumors on her legs.

Pfizer agrees to $2.3B payment

Missouri gets $22M, breaking fraud recovery record

The state of Missouri will receive $22 million from Pfizer Inc. as part of a $2.3 billion nationwide Medicaid fraud settlement. The $22 million award marks a record-breaking year for the state in Medicaid fraud recovery. The Attorney General's Office said so far in 2009 it has collected more than $75 million in Medicaid fraud recovery.
