Monday, the first day the St. Louis County Courts building reopened, was not without its hiccups.
Attorneys who showed up first thing in the morning were turned away. Many were not aware that hearings and conferences were canceled. Later in the day, attorneys were allowed to enter the building. The court was operating on a semi-emergency schedule with staff and judges in the building but with all dockets canceled because of the generator fire that closed the complex all of last week. Jury trials were pushed back to start on Tuesday. Cassidy Dobson, a clerk at the St. Louis County Courthouse, goes through the mail that piled up during the court's shutdown last week.
