Suzuki dealer claims brother’s dealership damaged his sales

A Kansas City Suzuki dealer is suing his brother for allegedly tarnishing the Suzuki name in a high-profile advertising scheme that prompted a flood of other lawsuits in Missouri and Kansas. Jeremy Franklin of JF Enterprises recently filed a lawsuit against Chad Franklin of CFS Enterprise Inc. and the American Suzuki Motor Corp. itself. Jeremy Franklin claims that the involvement of the corporation and his brother in a 2007 "Drive a Suzuki" and "Drive for Life" ad campaign hurt his business to the tune of $10 million.

School district sued over sale of buildings

The St. Louis Public School District is facing a lawsuit over its refusal to sell vacant school buildings to charter schools. The suit seeks the removal of deed restrictions placed on the sale of closed public school buildings by the Special Administrative Board of the Saint Louis Public School District. The deed restrictions prohibit buyers of closed SLPS buildings from reopening the building as a school for 100 years.
