School district sued over sale of buildings

Board won't sell to other schools

The St. Louis Public School District is facing a lawsuit over its refusal to sell vacant school buildings to charter schools. The suit seeks the removal of deed restrictions placed on the sale of closed public school buildings by the Special Administrative Board of the Saint Louis Public School District. The deed restrictions prohibit buyers of closed SLPS buildings from reopening the building as a school for 100 years.
