8th Circuit considers appeal of lawsuit over InBev takeover

Opponents of the InBev takeover of St. Louis brewer Anheuser-Busch Inc. told a panel of three federal appellate judges Wednesday that the court should now go back and undo the 2008 acquisition. The plaintiffs in the case, a group of beer drinkers, appealed after a federal judge last year granted Belgium-based InBev's motion for judgment on the pleadings and dismissed the lawsuit.

Major businesses can’t join sewer suit

A group of seven businesses in Missouri, including giants Anheuser-Busch, Monsanto and Boeing Co., were again denied a motion to intervene in a Clean Water Act enforcement action filed against the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District by the federal and state governments, according to a federal appeals court ruling Monday. The United States and the state of Missouri filed a complaint alleging the St. Louis sewer district discharged raw sewage into local waterways from 2000 to 2005.
