K.C., Jackson County to team up on jail

Twenty-five years after they were mothballed, four floors of the Jackson County Courthouse might again house inmates, if only temporarily. Jackson County and Kansas City officials said Wednesday that they plan to consolidate their detention facilities. Moving city inmates into county facilities would save an estimated $1 million per year, officials said.
