Reality TV contestant seeks new trial after tiny verdict

A one-time contestant on “The Bachelor” who was barred from attending her own personal injury trial claims she won just a fraction of a fraction of what she was seeking and is now asking for a new trial. In a lawsuit filed in Jackson County Circuit Court in 2009, Shannon L. Bair said another vehicle, driven by William M. Faust, pulled out in front of her on U.S. Highway 50 in Lee’s Summit on June 5, 2009. Bair attempted to pass Faust, but she alleges that he began playing “cat and mouse” with her, causing her to lose control. Her car became airborne and overturned several times.
