Republicans to square off in August primary

The pursuit in District 90 is one of only two contested races for state legislature in the primary election on Aug. 3. John C. McCaherty of High Ridge will face Republican challenger Ronald L. Snyder of Fenton. The winner of that race will challenge incumbent Sam Komo, D-House Springs in the general election on Nov. 2.

Nixon signs pension overhaul for state workers

Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon describes the importance of the Automotive Manufacturing Jobs Act before signing the bill into law at UAW Local 249 Thursday in Pleasant Valley, Mo. A pension overhaul Nixon signed into law Monday could offset the cost of offering Ford Motor Co. and other automotive manufacturers $150 million in tax breaks over the next decade.
