Customer cannot sue store over racial slurs, 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rules

A customer could not sue a retail store under 42 U.S.C. §1981 for a sales clerk’s “insulting racial slurs and comments” to her while she was placing items on hold in a layaway transaction, the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has determined.
