Herman Cain’s lawyer previously at Bryan Cave

The lawyer introducing Herman Cain at a press conference Tuesday about sexual harassment allegations against the GOP presidential candidate has been representing celebrity and high-profile clients for years.

And for about two years, L. Lin Wood drew his paychecks from St. Louis-based firm Bryan Cave.

Wood has practiced law in Georgia for more than 34 years and joined Powell Goldstein’s Atlanta office in 2006. Bryan Cave acquired that firm in 2009.

Earlier this year, Wood left Bryan Cave to open a three-attorney law office, Wood, Hernacki & Evans.

With his attorney at his side Tuesday, Cain denied the sexual harassment charges dogging his campaign. Standing beside accused figures in the news is a familiar position for Wood.

He represented the parents of JonBenet Ramsey, former Rep. Gary Condit regarding the abduction and murder of Chandra Levy, and Beth Holloway after the disappearance of her daughter, according to a profile of Wood on his firm’s website. He also was on a case involving Howard K. Stern and the estate of Anna Nicole Smith.
