Shipment liability dispute draws review by U.S. Supreme Court

Railcars sit on tracks near downtown St. Louis. The U.S. Supreme Court will use a dispute involving a unit of Union Pacific Corp. to clarify the liability rules for international shipments that are damaged while being transported by rail or truck within the country.

The justices on Tuesday agreed to hear appeals in a dispute with companies suing over alleged property damage from a 2005 train derailment.
