A former associate accused by Brown & Crouppen of hiding clients from the firm has fired back with his own lawsuit. John J. Driscoll Jr. alleges in St. Clair County, Ill., Circuit Court that Brown & Crouppen violated the Illinois Rules of Professional Conduct when it created an associate agreement that prevented him from continuing to represent clients with whom he had an attorney-client relationship. Driscoll filed his lawsuit after Brown & Crouppen filed suit against him in St. Louis Circuit Court.
