Doctors group sue law firm, alleging conflict of interest

Here's a twist: A doctors group is suing a law firm. Cardiothoracic Surgery Associates has filed a legal malpractice lawsuit against the St. Louis firm Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale, alleging the firm had a conflict of interest when it was the former general counsel for CSA and then represented a contrary party in the lawsuit. The petition alleges that Greensfelder had breached its fiduciary duty to CSA when it represented SSM Healthcare, St. Louis - using information that it gained as CSA's general counsel against the association. Timothy Thornton (pictured) is president of Greensfelder.
