Wash. U. plans appeal of $525,000 verdict

Washington University plans to appeal a $525,000 verdict issued against it in an age-discrimination claim by a former surgeon and department head. The university's defense attorney, Joe Conran, of Husch Blackwell Sanders, said he plans on appealing after making post-trial motions. He declined to comment on the potential grounds for the appeal.
