Part of class action reinstated by court

A federal appeals court has reinstated part of a class action shareholders lawsuit against Kansas City-based tax preparer H&R Block. The lawsuit was consolidated from nine separate class actions filed against the company in state and federal court. The lawsuits came after the company in 2005 and again in 2006 restated several years' worth of earnings. The company was also sued by California authorities over its loan refund program, and by New York over the marketing of its Express Individual Retirement Account program.
