Attorneys to announce lawsuit over Michael Brown’s death

Members of Michael Brown Jr.’s family and their attorneys will announce the filing of a civil lawsuit this morning against the city of Ferguson over his shooting death, the attorneys said in a press release.

Members of the Brown family and attorneys Benjamin L. Crump, Anthony D. Gray and Daryl D. Parks will be at a press conference at 10:30 a.m. in front of the St. Louis County Courthouse in Clayton, according to the press release from Parks & Crump, a Florida-based law firm whose attorneys have been representing the Brown family.

Former Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson, who is white, shot Brown, an unarmed black 18-year-old, Aug. 9. Brown’s death sparked months of unrest. State and federal investigations found that Wilson shouldn’t be charged criminally for the shooting.

Missouri Lawyers Media will update this story.
